WELCOME TO OUR MUSEUM
The Museum of Armenian Modernism after Arthur Tarkhanyan is a part of Tarkhanyan Center and was founded in 2018 by Anahit Tarkhanyan. The museum serves as a dynamic cultural hub, showcasing the innovative works of Armenian architects who played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s architectural identity during the mid-20th century. Through its exhibitions, it offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore how Armenian modernist architecture harmoniously blended tradition with forward-thinking design principles.

We Build the Future While Honoring the Past
Guided by the principle "We Build the Future While Honoring the Past", the museum is dedicated to educating people about this essential part of our cultural heritage and sharing it with the world. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and collaborations, the museum highlights a rich and often overlooked chapter of global architectural history.
Armenian Modernist Architecture
Armenian modernism, while part of the broader Soviet movement, developed a unique style deeply rooted in the country’s ancient architectural traditions. Architects, influenced by principles from sacred Armenian architecture, created a distinctive blend of modernism and national identity.
With numerous books, articles, and academic studies already recognizing the significance of Armenian modernist buildings, the museum serves as both a guardian and an ambassador of this legacy, connecting Armenia’s architectural past to a global audience and inspiring new perspectives on modernism's role in shaping culture and identity.
