As both a museum and a contemporary architectural studio, the center bridges the past and present by showcasing Tarkhanyan’s groundbreaking contributions through immersive exhibitions and virtual reconstructions, while actively shaping the future of architecture. Through innovation, education, and collaboration, we strive to inspire a deeper understanding of modernist principles and foster the creation of visionary designs for generations to come.

Our Missions

Located in Yerevan, the Armenian Modernism Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the architectural heritage of the modernist era. Established by Anahit Tarkhanyan, daughter of Arthur Tarkhanyan, the museum educates the public and provides a platform for architects and visitors to explore mid-20th century Armenian architecture. Key highlights include a permanent exhibition of Armenian modernist buildings, watercolor paintings by Tarkhanyan, and a scenic terrace café overlooking Mount Ararat.
Arthur Tarkhanyan (1932–2008) was a pioneering Armenian architect whose visionary designs defined modernist architecture in Armenia. His landmark works include the Youth Palace, Zvartnots Airport, and the Memorial Complex of Armenian Genocide. Over his illustrious career, Tarkhanyan authored numerous urban plans, public buildings, and monuments, leaving an indelible legacy in both architecture and academia. His innovative spirit continues to inspire generations of architects.


Founded in 2008 and based in Yerevan, Armenia, A3 Architectural Studio specializes in designing a diverse range of buildings, including residential, commercial, healthcare, and cultural projects. Committed to sustainability and the preservation of historical architecture, the studio’s notable works include Saint John Church in Abovyan, the Medical Center in Gyumri, and the Armenian Modernism Museum. With a highly effective team of four architects, A3 seamlessly blends innovation with tradition.
